In this project, the client, an architect, was working with a group of developers to utilize marina slips in popular destinations to install floating guest accommodations that would collectively function as a floating hotel… a “Flotel”. The architect had already made a conceptual concept model but needed ÆGS to upgrade textures (especially the wood panels), clean up and add detail to the model, and give the model some context. A simple marina was modeled and the model adjusted.
Once the new materials and context was added, the model was rendered and overlaid with a photograph, taken at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Reflections were added to the glass which help anchor the model in the setting of the photo.
